AnnMarie Slagle Cloutier
Pharm.D. and Compounding Pharmacist
Apple Valley’s pharmacist, and Warwick native, AnnMarie Slagle Cloutier, strives to provide outstanding service and to meet individualized patient needs. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at Northeastern University and her Doctorate in Pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island. AnnMarie is also a member of, and completed training with, the Professional Compounding Centers of America. Compounding is the art and science of preparing customized medications to suit the needs of specific patients. She is only one of a handful of PCCA compounding pharmacists in the Hudson Valley, Rockland / Orange County NY and Northern NJ area – serving both humans and pets through veterinary compounding.
Experience and Affiliations
AnnMarie founded Apple Valley Pharmacy after gaining extensive clinical experience at Massachusetts General Hospital, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, St. Anthony Community Hospital, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and ReDi Pharmacy. She is an active member of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP), Pharmacists Society of the State of New York (PSSNY) and Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA). In addition, Dr. Cloutier is a board member of the Hudson Valley Senior Source (HVSS), a local chapter of the National Aging In Place Council (NAIPC).
Community Outreach
Committed to helping others in the community, AnnMarie is a member of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce. She also supports Winslow Therapeutic Center, the Warwick Valley Humane Society, Warwick Little League and is the secretary of the Kings Elementary School PTA.
AnnMarie’s goal is to promote health and wellness. To that end, she strives to make her patients feel comfortable and have access to experienced staff at each visit they make to the pharmacy.
Patricia Lurye, R.Ph., M.S.
Pharmacist
Patricia Lurye is a pharmacist at Apple Valley Pharmacy and has been with the store since it opened. She had also worked as a pharmacist for the previous pharmacies in Merchants Square since 1992.
Patricia obtained her R.Ph. degree from Saint John’s University in 1981 and earned an M.S. in Health Management and Urban Policy from the New School for Social Research in 1996. She is licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of New York. She has worked in a range of professional settings, including retail chain pharmacies, community pharmacies, such as Apple Valley, hospitals and research labs. From 1990 to 1994 she served as the Director of Pharmacy at Helen Hayes Hospital, a New York State Department of Health facility.
She is a founding member of the Warwick Conservancy, a not-for-profit organization land trust whose preservation efforts are exclusively directed to the Town and Village of Warwick. She is an accomplished vocalist and has studied and taught Tae Kwon Do, in which she holds a third degree black belt.
Patricia resides in Warwick with her husband and son.
Dianne Buturla
Certified Pharmacy Technician
Dianne Buturla worked at all three pharmacies that have been at the current Merchants Square location. She began as a pharmacy clerk in 1994 and is now a Certified Pharmacy Technician for Apple Valley Pharmacy, having received her certification in 2012. Dianne is knowledgeable about all over-the-counter products, is able to assist the pharmacist, and provides expert customer service with her helpful attitude and friendly demeanor.
Born and raised in Middle Village, Queens, NY, Dianne has lived in Warwick for the past 29 years with her husband and three adult daughters. She enjoys country music, bowling and most importantly – spending priceless moments with her grandchildren.
Joey Graziadio
Specialized Pharmacy Technician
Joey Graziadio has become a valued member of the Apple Valley Pharmacy staff and has been with the company since 2008. He is a specialized pharmacy technician with advanced training in the art and science of compounding. Joey recently received a certificate for completing Sterile Compounding Techniques through PCCA in Houston, TX. He currently manages Apple Valley’s compounding laboratory and works directly with the pharmacists to prepare customized prescriptions for all patients.
A 2008 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, Joey attended Rockland Community College where he received an Associates Degree in Applied Science. He transferred to SUNY Cortland and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology.
Joey has strong interests in sports and physical fitness and has been a Warwick resident for the past 17 years.
Phyllis Emmerich
Marketing Director
Apple Valley Pharmacy’s Marketing Director, Phyllis Emmerich, is a results-focused, quality-driven professional with extensive experience in marketing, public relations and event coordination efforts.
Since receiving a Bachelor
of Science in Journalism and English from West Virginia University, Phyllis has put her degree through a range of experiences. Her drive to demonstrate consistent achievement of objectives can be seen throughout her 20+ year career in marketing and sales. From graphic design, print production and advertising sales to her successful experiences as a marketing and sales manager, a public relations and media coordinator and an entrepreneur, Phyllis is committed to peak performance. Her professional experiences include involvement in various industries including an independent movie theatre, a destination resort company, and a garden center and agritourism operation.
Her professional affiliations have included a Board of Directors position with the Breckenridge Outdoor Arts Council; membership with the National Association of Theater Owners; and membership with various chambers of commerce including Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce. Phyllis is a passionate patron of the arts, likes to travel with her family and hones an insatiable appetite for reading. She is thankful to call Warwick, NY her home, where she resides with her husband and two children.
Dorothy Arner
Pharmacy Technician
Dorothy Arner has worked with the staff at Apple Valley Pharmacy since 2007 when she was a Warwick Valley High School student. Personable and customer-service oriented, she enjoys assisting customers and their families with their prescriptions and over-the-counter medication.
Dorothy has lived in Warwick for over 17 years. She is currently finishing her Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Mount Saint Mary’s College. She also hopes to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician this summer to expand her role at the pharmacy.
